EAST WEST EAST Theatre festival, a unique English language theatre festival, will take place in The Hague during The Hague Festivals in June. Chekhov times three by Anton Chekhov, Tusk international Theatre Company with Ellis van Maarseveen, David Kr ¼gel, Chip Bray, Carlo Smeets and Nicole Moerland
Assistant Director: Vanesa Abajo Perez
Chekhov perfected the art of interpreting human idiosyncrasies by parading characters who give the impression of being quite normal but actually being far from it. His one-act plays show a witty insight into human relationships and the deep yearning for a better life.
The Proposal depicts an event that should be full of joy and expectations: a marriage proposal. But whatever can go wrong goes wrong&hellip. Burning passion turns to confusing discussions over landownership and, of all things, dogs. Love and greed return in The Bear. TUSK’s version of this well-loved Chekhov gem will be somewhat surprising, and will add an erotic tinge to the story of a widow and her debt-collector.
